Located on a south facing plateau at 1,860m altitude, L’Alpe d'Huez and its ski area enjoy maximum sunshine; you can indeed enjoy your day skiing in the sun: up to 7.5 hours of sun in December and up to 11 hours of sun in April.
Meteo France records an average of 300 sunny days per year at this resort.
A 3,000ha ski area with the longest ski slope in the world (16km) and a difference in altitude of up to 2,230m! 240km of ski slopes, 41 green, 34 blue, 40 red, 16 black. 84 lifts: 6 cable cars, 9 gondola lifts, 23 chairlifts, 40 ski lifts, 3 lifts, 2 carpet ski lifts and 923 snow cannons.
And also: 2 snow parks, 1 snowboard cross course, 1 night skiing slope, 1 toboggan run of 1,200m, 2 secured ski areas reserved for children and beginners. 50km of cross country skiing trails.
SKI EQUIPMENT
Our guests enjoy special rates for renting ski equipment with our partner NEVADA SPORTS (2 shops in the resort).
A wide variety of sports facilities or activities are available: swimming pools, ice skating, curling, ice driving school, snowmobiling, hang gliding, paragliding, microlight flying, helicopter rides, archery, clay pigeon shooting, snowshoeing, hiking on over 30km of trails, fitness, tennis, squash, golf, etc. For your entertainment: cinema, piano bar, night club, disco, game arcades, bars, restaurants (including 7 at altitude), shops and services.
Childcare is available for children from 6 months to 4 years of age and a snow kindergarten from 4 years of age is also available.
The ‘SKI+’ pass giving access to all lifts also includes entries to the swimming pool, ice rink, cross country trails and shuttles. Now a badge ‘pass’ system will allow you easier access to our facilities.
